The Sacred Pipe Resource Center is pleased to announce we were recently awarded a $32,000 Native Arts Initiative grant from the First Nations Development Institute of Longmont, CO! The grant will be used to help a local group of artists develop the Native Artist United (NAU) Guild, a cooperative social enterprise for supporting local Native artists and promoting traditional and contemporary cultural art.
The purpose of the Native Arts Initiative grant is to strengthen the organizational and programmatic infrastructure of Native-led nonprofit organizations and tribal programs, thereby enhancing their long-term sustainability and stability as they work to meet the needs of their constituent artists and preserve and revitalize traditional artistic practices in their communities.
The Native Artists United Guild will be meeting every Tuesday at 10:00AM at the SPRC office at 400 W. Main in Mandan. We are seeking additional artists who would like to become involved in the effort. If you are interested, please e-mail, call, or just show up at a meeting!
