The Thuswecha Beading & Cultural Academy is a program for youth, ages 10-17, wanting to learn how to bead. The classes focus on Native beading techniques and designs, with the goal of designing and beading a dance outfit. The program includes cultural presentations about beadwork, dance, songs, and participating in a wacipi.

The program is free, but requires a commitment to attend meetings and to complete your project to the best of your ability. Program sessions run for 18 weeks. Meetings are held every Tuesday and on alternate Saturdays. All beading and sewing materials are provided free!

The current program session runs September 6, 2016 through January 7, 2017. While it is difficult to join a session that has already begun due to the time required to complete a powwow dance outfit, you are still welcome to drop by a meeting and check it out!

Be sure and visit Thuswecha Beading & Cultural Academy on Facebook for news and pictures!
