QUEST Talk: BELONGING with Dr. Jason Sole

August 4, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - August 5, 2017 @ 9:00 am

Title card for Quest Talks

Calling All American Indian Youth!

This month’s Quest Talk event will focus on the concept of BELONGING—how we decide which groups we want to belong to, how we think about those groups, and how we determine their value to us. This is an overnight event for youth ages 10-17. The intent is to create awareness of Social Justice through a journey of self-discovery and awareness and discussion.

Quest Talk: BELONGING is geared toward Native youth who—at this particular age—would traditionally be going through ceremonies and practices for coming of age and finding their place in the world. Our first event—focused on HEALING—was about starting their journey by focusing on being WELL.

The event will feature Dr. Jason Sole. Jason Sole has a past that only some can imagine. He has spent a significant amount of time in correctional facilities. Jason Sole is a three-time convicted felon. He is a former drug dealer and gang member. It took power, courage, resilience, and the help of others to get to where Jason stands today. Today, Jason is the proud owner of Jason Sole Consulting which helps others to overcome the difficulties of gang membership, incarceration and much more. Jason stands encouraging others that there is a better way of life, and he is living proof.

The event will also feature Jon Eagle, a member of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe who operates a horse therapy program and works diligently for the youth of Standing Rock.

Please refer to the flyer for more information and REGISTER today! Spaces will be limited so please REGISTER now!

Parents are required to be present for the first part of the evening from 6-8PM for the meal and conversation. This is an overnight event. Meals and snacks will be provided. Youth should be sure to bring pajamas, toothbrush & toothpaste, pillow and/or sleeping bag, and of course your favorite teddy bear. 🙂 SPRC can provide sleeping bags if you need one, just let us know on the registration form.

All youth must be pre-registered to attend. Please fill out and submit the online registration form.
