Thanks to all who came to the Native Voting Fair on November 5th. Our votes are important! Historically, Native Voters have positively impacted elections including critical Senate races in Montana, Alaska, South Dakota, and North Dakota.
The Native Voting Fair featured informative booths to educate voters about what’s needed to vote, where to go, and sample ballots showing how to vote. There were election and voting games with fun prizes for the kids. We also had many door-prize winners, and a Grand Prize winner of a $100 movie gift card!
The highlight of the day was a Mock Election. After intense deliberations, the Native American population in Bismarck-Mandan elected the following candidates:
PRESIDENT – Hillary Clinton (50%)
VICE PRESIDENT – Timothy M. Kaine (58%)
US SENATE – Elliot Glassheim (71%)
US HOUSE OF REP – Chase Iron Eyes (93%)
ND GOVERNOR – Marvin Nelson (71%)
ND TREASURER – Tim Mathern (71%)
ND PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSIONER – Marlo Hunte-Beaubrun (81%)
ND INSURANCE COMMISSIONER – Ruth Buffalo (91%)
