Our earth sustains us.
Grandmother Earth Camps take youth to homelands of the Lakota/Dakota people and of the Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara peoples. Each one-day camp features traditional knowledge of Tribal ecosystems and current efforts to reclaim our Native cultural stewardship of the land. You will learn about traditional gardening, take a nature walk, identify plants, learn about equine therapy, visit a solar farm and earthlodges, and more.
Camp attendees will hear from Native elders, knowledgeable community members, and Native science professionals about Tribal traditions in protecting water and land, utilizing Native plants for health and wellness, using green energy to protect earth’s resources, and the stories that support our beliefs and traditions.
- Open to youth ages 12–17
- Must have parental permission
- Transportation is provided
- Meals, refreshments, and materials provided
Both camps are FREE! Sign up today by emailing or calling us at (701) 426-1315 to receive an application and parental permission form. Space is limited.
