Raising Native Voices
February 28, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Raising Native Voices is an informational and learning session that can help our American Indian community make a difference.
Featured will be a training component to help community members learn the protocols for providing critical citizen testimony for the various bills being considered by the North Dakota legislature. Learn how to make effective statements, how to present to committees, and how to advocate for your Tribes and Tribal communities’ needs.
This session will also feature an informational component about the bills in the current session that impact American Indian communities. Representative Ruth Buffalo (D-District 27) and Senator Richard Marcellais (D-District 9) will be in attendance to answer questions about any of these bills and their status.
A chili and frybread meal will be provided. 🙂
Like the thunderbird of old I shall rise again out of the sea; I shall grab the instruments of the white man’s success—his education, his skills, and with these new tools I shall build my race into the proudest segment of your society.
Before I follow the great chiefs who have gone before us…I shall see these things come to pass.
I shall see our young braves and our chiefs sitting in the houses of law and government, ruling and being ruled by the knowledge and freedoms of our great land.
So shall we shatter the barriers of our isolation. So shall the next hundred years be the greatest in the proud history of our tribes and nations.
