DIABESITY (Diabetes and obesity) is the leading cause of death among American Indian people. Our traditional Native lifestyle was based on active movement and the concept of balance. The changes in our diet and our sedentary lifestyle have had a major detrimental impact on our health.

Historically, American Indian people were known for health, endurance, and stamina. Today, diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, and cancer are a threat to our population, brought to us through unhealthy foods and sedentary lifestyles of sitting in front of cellphones, televisions, and other electronics.
