The phenomenon of historical trauma and intergenerational grief is becoming well-known in many communities. Understanding the impact of historical trauma on current behavior is critical to providing services and programs to Native American communities. The methods and strategies for healing, however, are harder to capture and define.

This session will discuss common culturally-based healing practices that can be incorporated or used in the provision of services. This workshop is for service providers, health providers, teachers, community workers, and any professionals who work with Native populations.

The cost is $50 to attend. You can register ahead by sending payment to the Sacred Pipe Resource Center, or pay at the event. Refreshments and a light lunch will be provided.

The Cultural Competency Workshop Series is an on-going service of SPRC geared toward professionals in the Bismarck-Mandan area working with and in American Indian populations. CEUs are provided where possible.
